With funding from the National Institutes of health (NIH) and other generous private donations, the SPURS program was able to accommodate 36 fellows:  21 females and 15 males; 16 African American, 8 Hispanic American, and 7 Asian American. This year, we had students attending schools including: Harvard College, CUNY Sophie Davis, Columbia University, Amherst College, Middlebury College, The University of Texas at Austin, Syracuse University, Rutgers University, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, University of Washington-Seattle, Brandeis University, Vassar College, Johns Hopkins University, James Madison University, Lehigh University, Stanford University, University of Utah, University of Pennsylvania, Yale, CUNY Hunter College, and Brown University.
